What our parents are saying

  • I’ve sent all three of my boys to SOPNS, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. The teachers and staff are so kind and gentle, and they create an environment that truly feels like a second home. My kids were all well-prepared for TK and kindergarten thanks to the thoughtful learning and play woven into every day. Beyond the classroom, the school has built an amazing community of families—both in and out of school—that has been such a gift to be part of. Even the fundraisers are fun and never feel like a chore. SOPNS has been such a special place for our family, and I’d recommend it wholeheartedly.

  • All three of my boys have attended SOPNS, and it truly feels like an extension of our family. Walking through the gate each morning and afternoon is like being greeted with a big hug -- the community of teachers, parents, and kids is so warm and welcoming. Many of the teachers have been here for years, which has meant my older and younger children have shared the same amazing teachers, adding to the sense of connection and continuity. The school has such a special, close-knit feel where kids are allowed to be kids, while also learning important social-emotional skills and structure. SOPNS is truly one of my favorite places on earth -- it really is the gem of the neighborhood.

  • We couldn't be happier with SOPNS! Our daughter absolutely loves going to school every day--she has so much fun and comes home excited to share everything she's learned. The enrichment programs, like the dance class, add an extra layer of joy to her experience, and she's constantly surprising us with new things she's picked up, from letters and numbers to colors and songs. The school incorporates learning into creative activities including many fund art projects! It's clear that the teachers put so much care into making the environment engaging, educational, and fun. Most importantly, they are warm, loving, and truly make the kids feel safe and nurtured. As parents, knowing that our child is in such a supportive and happy place means everything to us. If you're looking for a preschool where your child will thrive, we highly recommend SOPNS!

  • We love SOPNS! My son had never been to daycare before, so I was so nervous to start him at preschool. I loved that there were so many options for families. The half day program just 2 days a week was what we started with to ease him in. His teachers have been so loving, supportive, and understanding during his transition away from his parents for the first time. My son now goes 3 days a week (still half days) and now says goodbye confidently and immediately starts playing. I honestly didn't think we would ever get here and I thank the staff so much with helping my shy guy get accustomed to school. They even let him bring his beloved teddy bear every day and went above and beyond to help him feel at ease. Other great things are the hot lunch program and the outdoor playground is updated and so fun! They have a trike path, a huge sand pit with tons of trucks and toys, and an updated play structure with a shaded canopy. The play based curriculum was so important to me at this young age! This has been the best decision we could have made for our family.

  • I have sent all 3 of my boys to SOPNS since the age of 2 years old. That being said, I can say that for the past 5 years I have had 1, 2 or all 3 simultaneously attending the school. The teachers that my children have had are exceptional, Ms. Barbara, Ms. Ruth, Ms. Elizabeth, Ms. Juliana, and Ms. Sabrina to name a few. Ms. Reid was the teacher who initially toured the school with me in 2018. I remember it was raining that day and she walked me around the classrooms and was so kind, friendly, and made me feel like she truly cared about the kids. My son saw a big dinosaur toy and wouldn't let go of it. He was crying and crying and Mrs. Reid said, "Take it, let him play with it and bring it back next time". That kindness and caring is in SOPNS. Ms. Jennifer is the administrator and is easy to approach, talk to and always responds to our questions and is another example of someone who truly cares about the kids and parents. She is a great leader. Honestly, this school is amazing.

  • Our son has been attending SOPNS since the beginning of this year and we have been very happy here. The facility and classrooms are clean and organized and the faculty and community of parents has exceeded our expectations. It's nice to have a preschool in LA that doesn't make parents jump through any crazy hoops, or join a 2 year waiting list to apply and enroll their children in school. Would highly recommend SOPNS to any parents in the Sherman Oaks area looking for a great place to send their little ones to.

  • Absolutely love this school for our 2 year old! She is a BUSY girl and this is the perfect environment for her. They value the kids and let them PLAY! My daughter has also shown huge improvement in her overall behavior and self regulating skills. Really appreciate the staff.

  • Our daughter just completed her second and final year at SOPNS (as she has graduated to TK in public school), and we are overjoyed with how amazing the school was for us. Our daughter left SOPNS beyond prepared for TK, made close friends she still has playdates with, and always wants to visit her "old school" to give her teachers hugs. This school is truly a GEM - do yourself a favor and take a tour to get on the waitlist, ASAP! All of the parents are amazing and down-to-earth, and the social events (for kids AND adults) are really fun and community-building! I was really impressed by the education my daughter received in this preschool, and I liked how the religion that was incorporated was very a light touch. Additionally, you really cannot beat the tuition price -- it's year-round, has limited holiday breaks, and full time is 8am-5pm so it's great for working parents. They also offer part-time days, 3/4 days, and are overall super flexible with families. The previous school director, Miss Jennifer, just left as she sadly moved out of state (we love you, Miss J!), but a new director who was a former SOPNS teacher (and beloved by all) has taken her place and is off to an incredible start. She has such a heart for children and is really on top of everything. You honestly can't go wrong with SOPNS and I know my family will miss it (and everyone who is a part of it)!

  • We have had a wonderful experience at SOPNS! My son started attending the school right when he turned 2. He has grown and changed so much. He has formed strong attachments to all of his wonderful teachers and classmates. The community is wonderful and only growing stronger as we all recover from the COVID lock down years. we love SOPNS!

  • i could not say more about this amazing school. my son didn't speak when he started his first year, and now as the school year is ending, he is flourishing and talking so much. his teachers truly love and care for him and all students. highly highly suggest sending your child here!!!!!!

  • Finding the right school for our daughter turned out to be a rigorous process until we found SOPNS. Miss Jennifer and the amazing staff are God sent to my family and I. Our daughter has improved greatly in less than a year since enrollment. The teachers are phenomenal, even the other parents we have met through this school are all amazing. Long story short, SOPNS is synonymous to peace of mind, it is a great community to belong to.

  • We've had our daughter at this school for two and a half years now and couldn't be happier with it! It's the warmest, most welcoming community - we have met several of our best friends here! The classes are so small and the teachers and the school director know ALL the kids by name. They learn so much and have so much fun. Whenever I pick my daughter up, she doesn't want to leave! It's more affordable than many other schools and is somewhat of a hidden gem - I think of it as the best kept neighborhood secret! It's a loving and supportive environment where kids truly thrive!

  • We just finished a 2.5 year stay at SOPNS and could not have been happier. We absolutely love that school for our daughter. Miss Jennifer, the director, is so kind and thoughtful yet organized and very diligent in following through on all plans. I was a part of the Parent Club and absolutely loved the community of the fellow kids' parents. Miss Theresa and Miss Elizabeth were essential for my daughter's development and we truly sad that our preschool days are behind us ...

  • We love SOPNS! Our daughter started at 3 and is moving on to Kinder. Our son will start this fall! We know he is in good hands. All the teachers are great and really care. The classroom size is small which has been great. I have made mom and dad friends, too.

    - Laura R.

  • My daughter has been going to SOPNS for almost a year and we're all very happy! The teachers and staff are all so kind and very dedicated to providing a fun and safe teaching environment. You can really tell that they care about the children. They set up all kinds of fun activities and set up events for parents in order to build a strong community. I would recommend this school to everyone.

  • This school has been the absolute best. My daughter has attended both the school and summer school for over 2 years. The teachers are very caring and engaging. My daughter is excelling in math, writing, and language. The school was also very flexible with my scheduling needs and also at times let my older daughter attend when I needed. I appreciate everything they do and have done for both my girls. I would highly recommend any parents looking for childcare. I was so relieved to find a school I could trust.
